Life Here
Parkways, Porches and City Park Next Door
A Planned Suburb in the City
Park Hill got its name in 1887, when Baron Alois von Winckler platted land just east of City Park. Early rules required 40-foot setbacks and homes far more expensive than the Denver average, which is why the streets feel so wide and green today. Denver annexed the area in 1903.
The Streets
Montview Boulevard is the neighborhood's grand street, lined with towering trees and big older homes. Smaller pockets of shops and restaurants sit along Kearney Street, 23rd Avenue and Colfax.
City Park Next Door
City Park, Denver's largest park, borders the neighborhood to the west. It holds the Denver Zoo, the Denver Museum of Nature & Science and a golf course.
Getting Around
Downtown is an easy commute, and quiet streets with bike lanes make cycling popular. Being on the east side also makes it one of the quicker central neighborhoods to drive to Denver International Airport.
